Mindfulness in Eastern philosophy is the practice of purposely bringing one's attention in the present moment without judgement, which can be done through meditation or other practices.
Mindfulness is used in Western medicine by methods to decrease symptoms and manage disease in the body created by stress. In Western psychotherapy views, mindfulness is used in behavioral therapies where concepts of self-awareness and acceptance are applied for personal growth and development.
Mindfulness is simply self-awareness, observation of cognition without placing judgement on internal thoughts, and being in the here and now vs our past or future narratives.
We incorporate meditation, yoga, and acro yoga as restorative and active mindfulness services in life coaching sessions and singular sessions with virtual options.
